Warren Joseph Haak, 86 of Gresham, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2010. He was born on July 19, 1924 in Kent, Minnesota to Ernest and Verlie (Clukey) Haak. He served in the U.S. Navy as a signalman second class during World War II. He was an appliance repairman for 35 years.
Joan Lucille Haak, 74 of Yuma, Arizona, passed away on June 24, 2006. She was born on January 17, 1932 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to George and Theresa (Matter) Mavo.
Warren and Joan were married on January 17, 1948. They moved to Portland, Oregon in 1950 and enjoyed being snowbirds for the last 20 years between Yuma, Arizona and Portland, Oregon. They were past members of the Milwaukie Elks, enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping in the outdoors and traveling extensively.
Survivors include sons Doug Haak (Sue) of Bullhead City AZ, Dave Haak (Lin) of Gresham OR and Dan Haak (Ann) of Burns OR; brother Ted Haak of LaPine OR; sisters Vi Eggum and Lorraine Bay of Gary IN; fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. They were preceded in death by their daughter Donna Markel in 1989.
Combined Graveside Services will be held on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 10:00am at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. A wake will follow the services at the home of Dave Haak, 2865 NE Juniper Avenue, Gresham OR 97030. Contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Arrangements entrusted to Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon.
