Steven James McMahen "Steve" of Portland, OR born September 3,1954 passed away on December 12, 2024 from complications of Colon Cancer.
Steve graduated from Milwaukie High School in 1972. He retired in 2020 from Siltronic after working there just shy of 22 years. Once he retired he and his wife sold their home, bought an RV and did some minor traveling before making Nehalem their new residence.
Steve was an avid fisherman and spent most of his time on the water, whether it was fishing or crabbing it didn't matter as long as he was catching something. From the Nehalem River to Crane Prairie and everything in between, distance, rain or snow never prevented him from trying to catch the big one. Every year he and his buddies would pack up and head out to Bonneville Dam for their month-long fishing adventure known as Fish Camp. Once Steve's health started to decline he and his wife moved back to the Portland area and he was able to enjoy the remainder of his life closely surrounded by his kids and grandchildren.
Steve was a loving husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and friend. Steve was preceded in death by his mother Dolores McMahen and his father James "Jim" McMahen. Steve is survived by Wife Janet of 47 years, Daughter Angela and Son in-law Matthew, Son Steven, 5 grandchildren- Rian, Hendrix, Raidyn, Damian, Zander, Sister Lori and Brother-In-law Robert, Niece Lacie, Nephew Jakob, Brother-in-law Cyril and his wife Carol , and Nephew Jason.
