Rosalee was born on April 26, 1936 in Portland, Oregon and was the daughter of Glen and June (Hill) Ray. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1955 and later attended Marylhurst College and Portland State University where she studied education.
On May 18, 1957, Rosalee married Stanley Wayne Rawls at the Salvation Army in Portland, Oregon. They moved to Hillsboro in 1976 where she worked for Hillsboro High School as a Teacher’s Assistant for 20 years. She retired in the late 1990’s. In 2010, she moved to Sandy and in 2011 to Troutdale where she resided until her death.
Rosalee had many hobbies. She enjoyed reading, shopping and having tea with her friends. She was a snowbird in Arizona with her husband for several years and absolutely loved the Christmas Season. Her greatest love, however, was her family. She simply adored time spent with them and the memories they made. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Rosalee was a member of the Sunset Covenant Church in Portland and grew up as a part of the Salvation Army.
She is survived by her sons; Robin Rawls (and Marcia) of Cornelius and Drew Rawls (and Kristy) of Bend, daughter, LeWaynne Jungert (and Rich) of Twin Falls Idaho and sister, JoAnne Frogge of West Linn along with 4 grandchildren; Matthew, Nicholas, Emily and Molly, and many nieces and nephews. Her husband, Wayne preceded her in death in 2003. Also, her sister Jackie preceded her in death in 2010.
A memorial service will be held in March of 2012. Private Inurnment will take place at Willamette National Cemetery. Contributions may be made in memory of Rosalee to the Salvation Army. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
