November 28, 2015 our wonderful Ronald V. Morgan was called home to be with our Lord. He was surrounded by loving family and friends. Ron was born June 24, 1946 in Portland, OR to Leon and Joyce Morgan. He attended Hosford grade school, graduated in 1964 from Benson High School and attended a year and a half at MHCC. Ron enlisted in the Marine Corp on January 1, 1965. While in Vietnam he received the Naval Accommodation Medal for heroic action under hostile fire. He was injured in Vietnam and returned home to marry his high School Sweetheart, Suzanne Zachor September 17, 1966. They returned to Camp where he earned the rank of SGT. in less than 2 years. His injury forced him to leave the USMC. They moved to Gresham, OR where they had 2 daughter Anna and Kristan. Ron worked for Eoff and Taylor Electric, Carnation, Blitz and then took a job with the Postal Service. He transferred to Joseph Oregon in 1980 where he raised his children. Ron and Suzanne were blessed with seven beautiful granddchildren. Mychal (Kristal), Jaymes and Andrea Butterfield. Anthony, Genna (Calvin), Mia and Sofia Salerno. Ron was very proud of his Son in Law Damian who was a Recon Marine, Anthony a USMC SGT, and Mychal who served in the Army. His love of fishing, hunting and being outdoors was second only to his love of his family and dear friends. Ron and Suzanne moved back to Gresham to be with their granddaughters keeping their house in Joseph where they spent summers. Ron enjoyed watching his granddaughters, before and after school where they loved watching the old westerns with their Papa. However Papa expressed his dislike for Spongebob Square pants to his granddaughters delight. In 1995 Ron and his best friend and foxhole buddy Bill May, were reunited after 30 years of thinking each other had not survived Vietnam. Ron was loved deeply and dearly by his wife Suzanne of 49+ years, his precious daughter Kristan, Damian, Mia, Sofia and his many close family and friends. Ron’s family would like to thank the amazing Mt. Hood ICU/CCU Dr. Laura, Dr. Starley, Dr. Lehti, Dr. Greg, Christina, Siobhan, Brenda, Tresa, Mey-lin, Kristen, Angela, Nicole, Patrick, Rick, and Andrea and Tenzing & Cora (4th floor) for their loving care of our Ron and his family.
