Robert “Bob” D. Simms Jr., age 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at his home in Troutdale Oregon. Born March 6, 1945, to Robert and Betty Simms, Bob, to all who knew him, was a unique and caring individual who touched the lives of those close to him.
Bob worked for GTE as a lineman, foreman and supervisor for over 35 years. A fisherman and a farmer, he also loved to create works of art, from handcrafted wood mosaics to his 1937 Chevy. He served his country in the US Army and was a former member of the volunteer Corbett Fire Department.
Bob married Diana Simms in 1970 and raised four loving children. As a dedicated husband and father, he made an impact on all those close to him and continues to influence their lives. He is survived by his wife, Diana, four children, Michele, Terry, Brian, Jamie, and six grandchildren.
A public funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, June 1st at 11:00 a.m. on June 1st at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
