Robert W. Hostetler, born August 8, 1946 in Portland, Oregon, died Sunday September 25th, 2011, at age 65. He was the son of Roy and Alvene Hostetler. Robert lived in Oregon his entire life, graduating from Marshall High School in 1964.
Robert served his country in the U.S. Army from December 10, 1965 until September 14, 1967. Robert married his wife Sue in 1984 in Wilmington, Delaware. He had one son and three daughters. Robert was a devoted husband and father, always there when you needed him. He had a way of making any accomplishment feel like the best in the world. He maintained many life-long friendships, and was the life of any gathering. He enjoyed projects around the house, coaching his son’s baseball team, and playing anything his kids were involved in, as well as a good nap. He traveled often, especially to Mexico. He could always make his family or a friend laugh, and was a good role model to his family.
Robert worked as a boiler maker his whole life, first for Frasier Boiler Service, and most recently as an inspector of boilers for the State of Oregon. Robert is survived and missed by his wife, Sue; sister, Christine Hostetler, of Portland; son Jacob Hostetler of Eugene, daughters Nicole Ponce of Troutdale, Katelan Hostetler of Gresham , Richelle Moore of Fraiser Park, CA, as well as his grandchildren, William, Amber, Eilzabeth and Noah Ponce, and Taylor, Britton, and Jordan Moore. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
