

At the age of 17, Bob joined the Merchant Marines and served as a cook and a baker. He then became a Police Officer for the Portland Police Department. He served as President of the Portland Retired Police and Widows Association and he was the past President of the Oregon Chapter of American Merchant Marines. Bob enjoyed riding his motorcycle, traveling, celebrating special occasions with family and friends, and most of all spending time with his family. He was regarded as a compassionate gentleman, a social butterfly, and was adored by all.
Bob was preceded in death by his first wife Donna Roberts and his son Robert “Bob Bob” Roberts. He is survived and missed by his wife Linda Roberts; daughter Rochelle Storlie; stepsons Jody Miller and Michael (Kathleen) Miller; grandchildren Heather (Jared) Lippelgoos, Matthew (Laina) Roberts, Nicholas Roberts, Andrew Roberts, Torey Miller, Daniel Cords and Casey Miller; and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at Milwaukie Presbyterian Church on Friday April 25, 2014 at 1pm. Bob will be laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetery on Monday April 28th at 9:30am . In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Oregon or the Portland Sunshine Division.
