He was born on July 17, 1942 in Caloocan City, Philippines. He worked for two decades in the banking industry in the Philippines. He started as a Credit Investigator and worked his way up to the Bank Manager. He worked for 10 years with Philippine Banking Corporation and another 10 years with Interbank. In October 1993, he immigrated to Portland, OR with his family. He worked for the City of Portland in Accounting until 2010. He also worked as a night auditor for Best Western on weekends.
Rene will be remembered for his faith and dedication to his work. He enjoyed serving in the church in the Philippines. He also enjoyed reading books by Robert Ludlum and listening to Matt Monro.
Rene is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ammie, daughters, Maris, Rachelle, Rowena, son Ramon, son in law, Michael, grandchildren Mia, Micah and Robertt, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces.
Rene was blessed with many special friends, too numerous to mention by name, but all of whom cherished his friendship. We will miss his smile and thoughtfulness.
