Pamela Rae Creswell (McVey)
May 11, 1958 – February 1, 2021
Survived by her husband Michael R. Creswell, daughter Melissa J. Creswell, Jason W. Creswell, as well as her siblings Michaelle Olson (McVey), Jim McVey and Jeanene McVey.
Pam was born to parents Jimmie Ray McVey and Janice Marie McVey (St. Mars) (both deceased 2020 and 2002) in Toppenish Washington. The family moved to the Rockwood/Gresham area in 1963, where she attended Rockwood school district and Gresham High School. She met Michael Creswell at Gresham High while in orchestra through Mike's sister Kathy Creswell. They went on to get married July 23rd, 1977, a blended wedding due to Pam being Catholic and Mike being Presbyterian. They had 2 kids, and Pam was very active in their extracurricular activities, be it sports or music, she was supporting them. Pam was very crafty, she crocheted, sewed and did needle point. She loved to garden and had an amazing vegetable garden at the house off 165th and Division.
She loved to cook and bake. She always brought something to parties or gatherings. Pickles, cinnamon rolls, cheesecakes, casseroles and many more things would be brought to events. She tried to start her own cheesecake business, but never really got it up and running. But she still made them and did some special orders from her kitchen.
Always an animal lover, she became more of a 'fur mamma' in her later years. She loved to go to Doggy Dash with her dogs, and go to the farmers market with Oliver, and then later with Bear.
For employment, Pam worked a few jobs, but her longest job was with the phone company. She started with Heritage Convalescent Center as a dishwasher at the rest home. Next she worked at Nationwide Insurance. Mike heard that the phone company was hiring and took Pam for an interview, where she got the job. She worked for Pacific Northwest Bell Phone Company that became USWest and then later Qwest for a total of 25 years. After the phone company, she worked at a tax office for one season and then went on to work for Multnomah County at the recording office, where she helped with titles, deeds and marriage certificates.
As she got older, her health issues progressed. Pam was a diabetic and had heart surgery in 2019 for a bad valve. She never really got better after surgery.
She passed of a heart attack at home. She will be missed by many. She has rejoined her parents and is probably drinking some wine with Janice and fishing with Jimmie.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Oregon Humane Society in her memory for her appreciation for animal rescue efforts.
