After knowing Nolan only these past 6 months, he showed how pure and compassionate he was. Nolan was one of the last caretakers of a dear friend, boss and teacher, Marden Abadi. Nolan and Jeff were a godsend in taking care of our friend in his last days. I told Nolan many times I considered him and Jeff family for what they did for my master and will be forever grateful. Nolan will be remembered as a brilliant shining star with a heart of gold and will remain alive within us all. The ancient Egyptians used to say: if you say a mans name, he is alive. I take this opportunity to say Nolan Andru McGuire.

Something I’ve noticed in the stories about Nolan is that he had such a deeply emotional and intuitive soul. He could read others feelings like they were his own, and this gift touched so many people in a positive way, including myself. Even as a staff member at his school, he was able to see through my performance and reach out to me in a way that showed his soul was beyond his years. He would take the time to step away from the minutiae to ask “how are you?” and really mean it, which is a lesson I will carry with me for him. Nolan’s memory is a source of light for everyone he impacted,  and he will be deeply missed.

I just wanna thank you for the countless conversations although some were really random, a lot of them were eye opening. You always pushed me to think further outside the box whether it was about music, food , or life. I’ve never known a soul as spontaneous as you and i’ll forever be grateful to say we were friends. I wish we could talk one more time though, I guess i’ll just have to settle for telling you about my day and all the wild things going on in life and music.

Nolan was a vivacious, kind, loving grandson who always made us laugh and lit up the room with his presence.  He was generous and always gave up his room to let us sleep there when we came to visit.  We will always remember the fun times we had together hiking, swimming, going to the hot tub and listening to music there on his cell phone, and eating a midnight snack together.  We will never forget Nolan or stop loving him - he will live on forever in our hearts and minds.

Nolan was the annoying little cousin I’ve never had and I am so beyond grateful to have watched him grow into the most polite, genuine, beautiful soul I have ever met in my life. I’ve had countless arguments and just as many amazing late night conversations about life with this kid, and that’s how I’ll forever remember him. I’ll always look up into the sky and tell him about my days and how we’re doin on this side.  May be rest in the peace he’s always wanted, we love him more than words could say. ♥️

Nol, thank you for being Ethan’s first best friend ❤️ I remember your teeny high pitched voice when you were 4! I could not understand a word from you when you got excited. I remember the very first Christmas you, Tori & your mom spent with my family ❤️ , the look on your face when you got gifts that you didn’t expect 😊. I  remember your mom making pot roast when you guys were still very litttle (pre-vegetarian) and Ethan actually ate it and said, “this chicken is good!” You gave me a look, thank you for not telling him it wasn’t chicken. I reminisce on all the nights and summers we spent at your house playing, swimming and listening to music during open mic nights. For all the sleepovers at my house -one when you said you loved shrimp until you saw the shrimp still had it’s head on :) I remember the hikes we took to PQ Canyon and when you, Tori & Ethan tried on my wigs and hair extensions and took pictures. Don’t worry I won’t post those pics here :) I  remember all the fun we had fixing up your house in El Cajon and when we first became neighbors and you and Ethan wanted a put a gate connecting our houses so you could play whenever you wanted. I especially cherish the time we all went to Balboa Park (after all the little boys were born) and saw that you, Tori & Ethan could still hang out in your teenage years.  We love and miss you so much Nolie Olie. I pray that you are at peace. Tonja, Cres, Tori, Harp & Zy, we love you guys so much! We are here for you. Know that you are loving and caring parents and siblings ❤️

Oh, sweet sweet sweet Nolan. What does one say about the man that so many loved, charished, and respected. You were a kind, fun loving kid. You always made everyone you met feel comfortable and welcomed. You were the beautiful golden haired boy, with the killer blue eyes and a smile that would light up the darkest of rooms. One of my fondest memories of you was when I came down to San Diego for the first time and your mom took us to the beach. You, Ethan and I, oh my god were in the water for hours. I just remember riding the waves, looking at each other with the biggest smiles and saying, "again, again!" I can still feel the warmth on my skin and the taste of the salt water in my mouth. Till this day that was one of my favorite care-free summers. You will be truly missed Nol. Every time I get a glimpse of that beautiful sun I will know it's you smiling down on all of us.

There are too many memories I have with Nolan to choose just one, but every single one of them is pure sunshine and I will cherish all of them forever. It still feels like yesterday when you where begging me to teach you how to drive I remember the first day I took you out and I thought to myself this kid is never going to learn you must of stalled the car 20 times but the entire time you had a smile on your face and determination in your eyes a few days later when you asked me to go out again I thought to myself why hes not going to learn but i saw how excited you where just to give it another go and sure enough this time around you drove almost flawlessly, you scared me a few times almost hitting a few poles but you never gave up.

Life is strange. It is filled with joy, love, loneliness, and heartache, we never know what the next day is going to bring us. And though now we are are deeply saddened by your passing and missing you beyond belief. I look forward to the day the mention of your name will be something that brings a smile and happiness  to everyone who knew you. Nolan, writing about you it’s hard to put into a short summary, you were my first nephew my parents first grandchild. The love that our entire family had for you was tremendous, even if at times it may have not felt like it. There are many things in life that I wish we could have done together, that we never had the opportunity to do, or you never had the chance to experience. But we should not dwell on that, instead we should think of the amazing times we all had the pleasure and gratitude to have shared with you and the memories we will carry with us over the course of our lifes. I will remember my nephew as the charismatic, bright, handsome man he was and will speak of him fondly and often.

Nolan, what a beautiful person he was. Never would I imagine that I would be writing an obituary for someone that I went to high school with so soon after graduation. My heart broke when I herd the news. I didn't want to believe it was true. I had the pleasure of being in Nolan's advisory our junior and senior year. He was such a kind person and could always tell when I was upset about something and would ask me whats going on. He was kind beyond words, gave the best hugs, and had an infectious smile. I'm sad that he is gone as the world lost a loving person but heaven gained an angel. I know he will be watching over us with a smile on his face. This is not goodbye Nolan but only I'll see you later. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. 

When I first met you, Zach told me to look for the “Cali looking guy”, and instantly when you walked through the doors with that those goofy white boots you loved, I knew it was you. You were kind and soft, and you left a positive impression on everyone you spent time with- including me. I hope you are resting, feeling at peace, and feel the love that radiates for you- wherever you are. 

Nolan, I remember the first day you entered the 5th grade classroom. We instanly started talking and became buddies. Over the years we grew closer, we had our little fights during middle school. But most of all you were such a kind hearted person. I’ll always remember your smile and you trying to beat me in basketball. Throughout high school we were still close, I remember running into you all the time at Liberty. Things never changed between us. I’ll miss you so much Nolan. Fly high in the sky my dude🤞🏼

Nolan, he was such a great person inside and out he was that ideal beautiful surfer California boy with the perfect long blond hair and lushes blue eyes. I looked up to Nolan in his musical career and him as a person in general he was such a funny person and a great older sibling! One of my favorite memories with Nolan was probably me staying over at his house in California and he had these little  walkie-talkies and it was time for us to go to sleep and I was sleeping in Tori’s room he gave me 1 and he had 1  and we were talking to each other through them and Tonja heard us and took them but it was so funny !! But I could always count on Nolan for a laugh and I know your still like that up in heaven ! I love you Nolan Andru rest easy buddy💛

I have been one of the few that has not put on a post about my  sweet nephew. So I'm ready now and my words are soft and gentle deep inside   Nolan was and artist his talents were so full of feelings bright colors painted in the breath taking landscapes he loved to be in  his beautiful soul that shined in his eyes is now shining in heaven with god Angel's and the arms of those of the family that carrind him up gently. He is no longer in pain his thoughts are clear and that infectious smile is smiling down on us. When ever I look up towards the heavens with my many talks with god I know he is there smiling down. Nolan, I want to thank you for always making me feel welcome. You really were an amazing person. You have beautiful soul  You might not have realized the effect you  had on people. The ease & acceptance you treated people with, that beautiful smile, easy going nature. I'm sorry you felt this was the only option.  I only met you a few times, you made an difference in my life.

Nolan, I can't believe this is for real. Everyday I wake up hoping that it is just a nightmare and that you are ok. I cry everyday thinking about you and wishing I could be there with your family!! Nolan you were and will always be an amazing soul!!! You were such a great kid who it feels like over night became an amazing man!! I am so thankful to have been given the privilege to know you and your family!! You have such a bright soul ...so bright that you brought so much happiness and love to everyone you met!! You were so creative and different. Being so close in age we always use to butt heads. Remember when we couldn’t stop arguing that summer so ur mom tied us up with caution tape and made us pick up trash? As soon as we got out of ur moms sight we were pals again.
