Michael John Robbins, 82 of Woodland WA, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. He was born on August 9, 1941 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Fred and Jessie Robbins. Mike worked as a baker for most of his life at Albertson’s but was well known for his time as a bartender at Multnomah Greyhound Park and Portland Meadows. He married Marilyn Hughes on August 12, 2012 in Amboy, Washington.
Mike’s lifetime passion was raising and racing greyhounds and horses. He also enjoyed golfing and bowling and loved his annual trips to Cabo San Lucas.
Mike is survived by his wife Marilyn Hughes of Woodland WA; daughters Margie, Marita and Melody and stepchildren Mark, Darlene, Scotte, Tom and Jeni.
A visitation for Mike will be taking place on Sunday, August 20, 2023 from 10:00am to 4:00pm at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, 520 W Powell Blvd in Gresham, Oregon. Graveside service will be at 11:00am on Monday, August 21, 2023 at Lincoln Memorial Park in Portland, Oregon. Contributions may be as donations to the Parkinson’s Foundation at Parkinson.org in Mike’s name.
