Linda Jean Macomb, a resident of Gresham, Oregon, died on January 26, 2010 in Portland. She was 60 years of age.
Linda was born on February 16, 1949 in Richland, Washington and she was the daughter of Vernon and Bernice (Hayes) McCormick. She resided in Washington as a child and in 1957 moved to Oregon where she graduated from Centennial High School in 1967.
After high school, Linda worked for Jantzen Knitting Mills for nearly 10 years and owned and operated a Day Care/pre-school out of her home for 29 years.
Linda was a resident of East County for 53 years and attended East Hill Church in Gresham, Oregon. She also belonged to a local Bunco Club for over 30 years.
Linda had many hobbies in life. She had a passion for teaching children and caring for kids. She enjoyed gardening, antiques, animals and riding horses. She also enjoyed traveling to places such as Europe, Ireland and Scotland. She was tough, uplifting, and supportive and loved unconditionally. She had a kind and patient heart and touched many lives on her journey through life.
Linda is survived by her three children, Kerry Macomb, Tamara Elmer and Colette Macomb all of Portland, her mother and step-father, Bernice and Earl Eaton of Portland and brother, Michael (wife, Kathy) McCormick of Gresham along with 4 grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is also survived by her lifelong friend Melody Dickey.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 3:00 pm at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at Douglass Cemetery in Troutdale, Oregon. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling the arrangments.
