Kelly passed away suddenly at the age of 63. He was the youngest child of John and Jean Coyle, and arrived on his father’s birthday. He was born in Portland Oregon and attended St. Anne’s grade school, Gresham High School, and Southern Oregon College.
He started his career in auto parts at Ron Tonkin Toyota where he met his future wife Rene. Although they did not stay together, they were blessed with two daughters, Marie and Leah.
Throughout his career in auto parts he developed many professional relationships. Besides Ron Tonkin Toyota, he worked at Broadway Toyota, and spent the last 17 years at Gresham Toyota where he worked as the Parts Manager.
Throughout his life Kelly developed many friendships. He was the guy you called when you needed a helping hand, or a listening ear. He was known for his boundless generosity, infectious laugh, and stellar dance moves. He loved nothing more than to make people laugh, especially if it meant he could do his Rodney Dangerfield impression. Kelly loved tending to his koi pond, and took pride in bringing his garden to life every spring, and lighting it up with Christmas lights every winter. He loved taking his grandkids to the duck ponds, and spoiling them with treats. He was always counting down the days to his next trip; some of his favorites included Sunriver, Maui, Belize, and the Cayman Islands. Kelly loved a good bloody mary, and a great round of golf. He loved football, and was always dressed to impress in his Rams and Duck gear. Most importantly, Kelly loved his family, his friends, and of course his loyal canine companions, Coal and Bo.
Kelly is survived by his children, Marie Coyle (Zak) and Leah Coyle; his grandchildren, Mia and Bennett; his mother, Jean Coyle; his siblings, Kevin Coyle (John), Karen Gates, Kim Orth (David); his nephews, Tyler and Trevor (Courtney) Orth; and grand nephews and nieces, Rylee, Cohen, Piper, and Reed.
Kelly’s memorial service and reception will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 13th, 2024, at St. Henry's Catholic Church, 346 NW First Street, Gresham, OR. Additionally, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, when the sun’s out and the beer is chilled.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
