Julie was born on May 12, 1953 in Long Beach, California. She grew up in Garden Grove, California and at age 14 she moved with her parents, sister and two brothers to Estacada, Oregon. She attended Estacada High School and graduated from Gresham in 1971. She later earned her Degree in Court Reporting.
On May 25, 1985, she married Donald Bieler in Redland, Oregon. They made their home in Eagle Creek where Julie worked with her sister, Kym in interior home design. She was also very talented and very crafty. Julie excelled in numerous crafts including, knitting, crocheting, sewing, needle point, cross stitch and pottery. She also designed beautiful scrapbooks and loved to make new baby gifts for family and friends.
Julie was a breast cancer survivor who was strong, patient and loved to make others happy. She was generous with her talents and her time. She donated handmade hats and scarves to the homeless and always found the time to cherish those close to her. She was unique with her style and fun to be around. She loved color, her bangle bracelets and having her hair and nails done. She was a wonderful wife, mom, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister and friend. She imprinted the hearts of those around her and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Donald of Eagle Creek, daughter, Ereka Anderson of Milwaukie, son, Patrick (wife, Nina) Davis of Eagle Creek, brothers, Larry Gabriel of Milwaukie and Randy Hinkle of Portland and sister, Kym O’Neill of Redland along with 5 grandchildren: Jared, Kayla, Ashley, Ariel and Damien.
A celebration of Julie’s Life will be on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 11:00 am at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, OR. As a special tribute to Julie, the family requests that you kindly wear purple to her service as purple was one of Julie’s favorite colors.
A Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm also at Bateman Carroll. She will be laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetery. Contributions may be made in memory of Julie to the Susan G. Komen Foundation at www.komenoregon.org.
