John Kenneth Lyons entered the gates of heaven on July 6, 2024, surrounded by love in his home in Wood Village, Oregon. Born December 21, 1942, John was one of three children and grew up in Troy, Montana where he graduated from Troy high school in 1961. Soon after, he joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country as an airplane mechanic and pilot until his honorable discharge in 1968.
John welcomed his first son, John William Lyons, in July 1972. On December 21, 1975, John Sr. married Ruby, the love of his life. Through marriage, he gained six stepchildren who he loved as if they were his own.
After concluding his military career, John continued working a variety of tool-oriented jobs. In 1988, he moved to Wood Village, Oregon from Portland where he became the assistant manager for a beautiful mobile home park – a role that he would fulfill for the remainder of his life. John was the light of any room and a teller of jokes everywhere he went. He made an impact on everyone he met.
His brother Skip and his stepson Marvin precede him in death. John is survived by his beautiful wife of almost fifty years – Ruby Lyons, his twin sister Nancy, his children, over forty combined grandchildren & great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
