Joan Marie Eckert

Joan Eckert was born in Portland, Oregon to Charles and Lillian Rust.
Her birth was a medical marvel for the time at 1lb 13oz and was placed in a shoe box in a separate room all by herself because they didn’t believe she had survived. But after her dad heard her stirring, he told the doctors and they spanked her bottom and so began a beautiful life.
Joan had a few moments of fame in her life.

She met President Kennedy while in high school
And when her twin daughters were born, she made the papers again because of the circumstances surrounding their birth and the miracle that it was.
She attended St. Peters Grade school and graduated from Marycrest High School in 1961 with honors
Joan worked for over 20 years in the medical data entry field for Kaiser and other companies as Kaiser down sized and subcontracted their work out.
She is remembered very fondly by her coworkers, friends, and family that she gained throughout her years on this Earth
Joan is survived by her husband Bob, children: Bob married to Shauna, Mike married to Jamie, Nancy, and Wendy married to Josh.
She currently has 9 grandchildren: Michael, Haley, Kasaundra, Kayden, Robert, Josiah, Olivia, Noah, and little Sarah.
Joan is also survived by her siblings Dennis, Ken, Dave, Chuck, Carol, and their families.
She passed surrounded by family holding both hands as she breathed her last and stepped into the presence of God.
