Geno grew up in Southeast Portland. He graduated from Corbett High School in 1938 where he was president of the student body. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps in the South Pacific during World War II.
Geno married Arlene Lundbom on July 2, 1942 in Denver, Colorado. He did some logging, then was in the banking industry, then served in the military, and eventually was a sheet metal worker. Geno was a stalworth member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Interests included fishing, where he was a charter member of the northwest Steel headers Sandy River Chapter, an avid mushroom hunter, liked crossword puzzles, vegetable and floral gardening, built his own home and spent 25 active years for Zarephath Pantry organization.
He spent some summers in Seaside, Oregon. Geno was a long time Gresham and Corbett area resident.
In lieu of flowers donations may be given to Zarephath Kitchen and Pantry.
Survivors include his loving wife Arlene, of Gresham, two sons, Roger Henshaw, of Vancouver, WA., and Keith Henshaw, of Portland, OR., daughter, Elaine Henshaw-Marshall, of Gresham, OR., six grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Funeral service will be on Monday, June 6, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church located at 507 W. Powell Blvd., in Gresham, Oregon followed by a committal burial service at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham.
