Esther was a loving mother, doting grandmother, and proud great grandmother. She had the strongest of faith in Jesus Christ and lived each day of her life in profound love and dedication to her Lord. A victim of polio as an infant, her parents were told by doctors at the time that she would never walk. Sometime during her second year she miraculously proved them wrong. She never let the disease slow her down and found her way to the summit of Mt. Hood with the Mizamas mountain climbing club while in her early twenties. She loved to travel and reminisced often of a glorious trip to Europe with her daughter and her family. She later had many more adventures with a close group of friends she termed as the “oldie moldies”.
She was a long time employee of the US National Bank in many capacities, retiring from the real estate loans division in 1986.
She was loved by many but none more than her family. She is survived by her son Richard of Portland, OR., daughter Bonnie Bunyard and her husband Gene of Richland, OR, and son Mark and his wife Jomae of Silverton, OR. In addition, she had seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
