Edward Roy Ritter passed away on February 13, 2016, at his home in Gresham, Oregon. Edward was born on January 3, 1931, to his parents: Edward Roy Ritter, Sr. and Grace Ritter. He attended Salem High School in Illinois, from which he graduated in 1950.
Following graduation, Edward joined the United States Air Force. He served from 1951 until 1972, and one of those years was spent in Vietnam. Following his retirement from the Air Force, Edward began his second career at the Reynolds Metal plant, from which he retired in 1987.
Edward married the love of his life, Kathleen “Mary” Ridgley on September 1, 1956. Together, they have two children. They were married until his passing.
Edward loved to read, and he had an extensive collection of books. He also enjoyed attending the Lighthouse Church in Gresham, and spending time with his family.
Edward is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary; his son, Steven; his daughter, Kareen; his brother, Harold; and his sister, LaVerna. He will be missed.
