Dorothy May (Bailey) Wallace Gilmore

Following the death of her father she moved to Clarksburg, West Virginia where she met and married Carl Bailey. They had four children. After Carl’s discharge from the military following World War II they moved to Vanport, Oregon. They lost all of their possessions in the Vanport flood. Later after her divorce she married Howard Gilmore. Howard preceded her in death.

Dorothy loved her dogs, reading and watching television.

Survivors include her daughters, Doreen and her husband Don Shine, of Gresham, OR., Diana and her husband Bill Hitch, of Chehalis, WA., step-daughter, Ky Sellards who lives in Alaska, step-son, Kirk “Rocky” Gilmore, of Loveland, Colorado, sister, Mildred Findley, of Portland, OR, many grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by two sons Robert and Daniel Bailey, and two grandsons Thomas Boljat and Robbie Bailey.

Funeral Service will be on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home located at 520 W. Powell Blvd. in Gresham, Oregon followed by a concluding cryptside service at Lincoln Memorial Park in Portland.
