Dan was born on April 11, 1972 in Bellevue, Washington and was the son of Richard and Deborah (Becker) Wykes. He graduated from David Douglas High School in 1990 and went to work for the family business; Golden Hammer Auto Body, where his step father, Glen taught him the skills of auto repair and painting. He later worked for Custom Touch Auto Body in Gresham.
Dan enjoyed the outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting and scuba diving. He also loved cars. He was very social and had many friends; many of which he considered his family. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was well liked. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Dan is survived by his mother, Debbee Whitney of Troutdale, step-father, Glen Whitney of Boring, brother, David (wife, Raychelle and children, Mikayla and Brayden) of Gresham and step-sisters, Heather ( children, Lucas, Christine and Katherine) Horner of Nebraska and Kelly (children, Amber and Brenna) Hardy of Anchorage, Alaska along with his dog and constant companion, Kirby. Dan also had a special bond to his aunt, Roberta Witsoe of Seattle, Washington. His father, Richard and all of his grandparents preceded him in death.
A Private Family Gathering will be held at a later date. Contributions may be made in memory of Daniel to the Oregon Humane Society. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling the arrangements
