Clayton Bradley Swank was born in Portland, Oregon at Providence Hospital on May 4th, 2000 and left this world on his own terms at only 23 years young, on Saturday, June 10th, 2023 in Portland, Oregon.
Clayton grew up in Gresham, Oregon and attended Powell Valley Elementary School, Gordon Russell Middle School, and graduated from Sam Barlow High School in 2018. Clayton played water polo for Sam Barlow High School all four years. In his Freshman year his teammates created and presented Clayton with a "Rookie of the Year" award. During his water polo career at Barlow, Clayton and his teammates took second place in the state tournament. Clayton later went on to become team captain and remains on Barlow's all-time top 10 list for goals, assists, and steals in a single season.
Growing up Clayton enjoyed boating with family, wakeboarding and wakesurfing, playing basketball, riding his bike and skateboard, and hanging out with his friends. Clayton also loved other things like movies, music, creating, nature, dogs, anything with bright colors, and he was an aspiring artist. Clayton was a free spirited radiant light with a beautiful soul. He had a smile and dance moves that could light up the room and was known for his unique character and creativity.
Clayton is survived by his mother and father, Amy and Scott Swank, his brother, Cody Swank and his Grandparents, Brad and Lynn Cameron and Marlys Swank along with many extended family and friends.
Clayton's Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm on Wednesday July 19th, 2023 at McMenamins Edgefield Blackberry Hall, 2126 N.W. Halsey St., Troutdale, OR 97060.
