Barry Steven Sims, 80 of Oregon City OR, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023. He was born on November 29, 1942 in Inglewood, California to William and Johnie Sims and served for six years in the Army National Guard. Barry married Linda Paula Damm on February 28, 1970 and she preceded him in death on August 14, 2011. Barry worked as a mainframe operator for thirty-five years for Pacific Northwest Bell before his retirement in 1995. Barry was an avid Ham Radio Operator and loved classic black and white movies.
Barry is survived by his daughter Hope Duran of Gresham OR; son Mark Sims of Oregon City OR; brothers David Sims and Joel Sims both of Garden Grove CA and grandsons Michael Gauthier, Devon Nealey and Cameron Nealey.
No formal services will be held at this time. Contributions can be made as donations to Mt. Hood Hospice at www.mthoodhospice.com in Barry’s name. Arrangements entrusted to Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon.
