Robert Loudermilk, our much loved husband, Daddy and Papa went to be with Jesus on Christmas Day in Calera, Oklahoma at the age of 88. He was born December 1, 1924 in Greenwood, Arkansas to James (Jim) Marshall and Dena (Bowers) Loudermilk. He was a long time resident of Fort Smith. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific. He worked for Chevrolet Gear and Axle in Detroit, Michigan, was a farmer in South Sebastian County, worked for Modernistic Floor Covering in Fort Smith and was retired from Baldor Electric. He was a deacon and elder for the College Terrace Church of Christ and the West-Ark Church of Christ.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the West-Ark Church of Christ in Fort Smith, officiated by Brother Travis Huffman and Brother Earl Flood, with burial at Ramsey Cemetery in Hackett under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be 1 – 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 6 p.m.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Loretta (Smith) Loudermilk; two daughters, Linda Huffman and husband, Travis of Calera, OK and Bobbie Flippo and husband, Bruce of Dayton, AR; grandchildren, Doug and Kyndra Huffman of Frisco, TX, Tracy Moore of Calera, OK and Shelley Flippo of Dayton, AR; great grandchildren, Jaida Moore and Landry Huffman; one sister, Doris Dalton of Searcy, AR and many loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Leelan Duffle and Lois Wyatt; two brothers, Elmer and Clifton Loudermilk and a grandson, Paul Flippo.
Pallbearers will be grandson, Doug Huffman, nephews, Floyd Loudermilk, Wayne Wyatt, Ronnie Smith, Greg Smith, Randy Smith and Phil Smith.
