Mildred Elizabeth Black, 87, of Fort Smith and formerly of Hackett passed from this life on Wednesday, March 2, 2011. She was born on December 7, 1923. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Ben and Mae Black; one sister, Melba Mae Black; three brothers, Lee Roy Black, Virgil and wife, Lois Black and Lester and wife, Louise Black and one brother-in-law, Jim Clark.
She is survived by one sister, Pearl Clark of Fort Smith and three nieces and nine nephews.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Friday, March 4, 2011 at Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church with nephews Rev. W.B. (Sonny) Clark and Rev. Glendall Black officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
Viewing will be 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.
