Larry Monroe Simpson, 80, of Greenwood, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and savior on Friday, July 21, 2023 in his home. He was a machine operator for Inland Container Company. He was the most wonderful man that ever lived, born again Christian and member of Greenwood First Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 24, at Greenwood First Baptist Church with interment at Cross Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood, Arkansas. Viewing will be Sunday, from 1:00 – 7:00 p.m.at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Virginia Simpson; two sons, Clarence Eugene Jones and Jamie Carter Simpson; sister, Jackie Poole; six grandchildren, Billy, Raven, Aaron, Amy and husband, Patrick, Josh and Jacob and five great grandchildren, Jadyn, Jaxon, Michelle, Joshlynn and William. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Emma Simpson, his brother and five sisters, Harold, Maxine, Wanda, Marilyn, Sue and Frankie.
Pallbearers will be Ashley and Will Grey, Dale Scantling, Glen Cotrell, David Guynes and Keith Dailey. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith James and Cory Cobbler.
