Joan Sharon Brown Brewer born to George Brown and Betty (East) Brown on November 23, 1947 in Craighead County, Arkansas and passed away March 8, 2018 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Joan, along with her sister, Sue, was the co-owner and operator of the Casa Del Rey Restaurant in Fort Smith. She later was the owner of the Evergreen Bar, a very popular hangout for family and friends alike. Joan went on to become a beautician and open her own salon. She will be missed by them all and the many lives that were touched by her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Betty Smith and George Brown, a sister, Sue Brewer and five brothers, Benny Brown, Ricky, Eddie, Mark and Dennis Biggers. She is survived by her daughter, Kitty Self of Fort Smith; grandson, Dillion Self of Fort Smith; three sisters, Sherry Biggers of California, Geanette Bowlin of Fort Smith and Tammy Self and husband, Lloyd of Fort Smith; four brothers, Gary Biggers and wife, Rose of Charleston, Steve Biggers and wife, Debbie of Charleston, Jackie Ensey and wife, Jerrilynn of Fort Smith and Roger Ensey of Fort Smith; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews and a multitude of friends.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, March 15 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood.
