Jimmy "Barney" Jones

Jimmy “Barney” Jones, 89, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Monday, June 3, 2024 in his home. He was born November 26, 1934 in Charleston, Arkansas to Webb and Emma (McClallan) Jones. He was retired from the Arkansas State Highway Department and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Alice Jones; one daughter, Marcie Jones and spouse, Valerie Jones; two brothers, Billy Webb Jones and wife, Betty of Greenwood and Mick Jones of Lincoln; three sisters, Dana Haley of Louisiana, Jennifer Kitchens of Michigan and Charlotte Chastain of Greenwood; one grandsons, Malakai Shepard and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Doc Jones.

Graveside memorial service will be 4 p.m., Friday, June 7 at Liberty Cemetery in Greenwood under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
