It would take a hundred lifetimes for someone to leave an impact quite like Daniel Isaiah Arrington has over the course of his 18 years. Isaiah passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024. Born to Wendy Medrano and Daniel Arrington, he was genuinely the light of his parent’s lives.
He adored his mother, and his father was his biggest role model and very best friend. Isaiah, a Senior at Greenwood High School, could be found leaving his legacy on and off the football field. He was a brilliant young athlete with larger-than-life goals, that worked to achieve those plans with the tenacity and willpower of someone with wisdom well beyond his years. He was focused, driven, and was an active participant in the Founders Group of Arkansas. He loved to dance and was known to all as “Hollywood”. In his free time, he was a loving grandson, brother, nephew, mentor to young aspiring athletes and loyal friend. Ike spent time hanging out with those he held dear to his heart, while giving everything he could to building his relationship with God. He fully believed that he was traveling down the path that God intended for him and recently rededicated his life to the Lord, hoping that others may follow in his footsteps of faith.
A fierce protector, Isaiah loved his family with his entire heart, and they loved him just as much in return. He is survived by his father, Daniel Arrington; his sisters, Kaileigh Hamilton and Emory Brewer; paternal grandmother, Rena Arrington of Mississippi; maternal grandparents, Alan and Jan Mashak of Greenwood AR; uncle, Timothy Arrington; aunt, Elaine Price (paternal); uncle, Adam Mashak; aunt, Jalana Mashak (maternal); his sweet girlfriend, Anna and countless cousins, family, and friends.
He is spending eternity with his mother, Wendy and little sister, Vivian Rey Medrano, who were his biggest fans. We pray that who he was in this life continues to leave its mark on the community that he loved so much. The loss of his life is something that we will never be able to fully grasp, but we will continue to live like Ike, by loving unapologetically and with a faith in God that will never be broken. He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Reverend Clarence Arrington.
A celebration of life service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 5 at the H.B. Stewart Arena. Visitation will be held Monday from 1 – 4 p.m. at the arena, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7.
