Hollis Lee Gillis

Hollis Gillis, 71 of Mansfield, Arkansas went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, July 15, 2014. Hollis (Pops) was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to everyone he knew. He was loved greatly and will be sorely missed by all but our hearts are rejoicing that he is in Heaven and reunited with the love of his life, Shirley.

He is survived by two sons, Michael and wife Donna Gillis of Mansfield, Mark and wife Colleen Gillis of Mansfield, two daughters; Sherri and husband Ben Brand of Huntington, Sheila and husband Titus Harter of Neosho, MO; eleven grandchildren, Chantee and Nathaniel Jackson, Micail, Matt, Weston and Ryan Gillis, Josh and Sarah Hattabaugh, Nicole and Samantha Brand, Alex and Jaden Harter; two great-grandchildren, Cole and Paislee Jackson; three brothers, Billy, Donald and Kenneth Gillis and one sister, Mary Lou Abbott of Grove OK. He is preceded in death by his wife Shirley Gillis and his parents, Clarence & Mozell Gillis

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2014 at James fork Baptist Church with burial at Coop Prairie Cemetery in Mansfield under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Thursday from 1-8 p.m. at the funeral home chapel, where the family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Michael Gillis, Mark Gillis, Titus Harter, Ben Brand, Matthew Gillis, Weston Gillis, Ryan Gillis and Jaden Harter.

A special thank you to the Mercy nurses who cared for him, Dr. Nolewajka and Alicia and the Hospice Floor for taking such good care of him.
