Glenda Grace Goodwin, 49, of Watauga, Texas lost her battle with cancer Monday, August 13, 2012. She was born July 26, 1963 in Live Oak, California to Grover and Luella Patton. Glenda grew up in Greenwood, Arkansas, the youngest of six children. She graduated from Greenwood High School in 1980 and held an associates degree from Grossmont College, San Diego, CA. She and her husband of thirty years, Donald Brent Goodwin, were married in 1981. Glenda is preceded in death by her father, Grover Patton.
Survivors include her loving husband, Brent; a daughter, Jennifer Golden and husband, Matthew; a son, Matthew Goodwin and wife, Monica; a grandson, Donald Brady Goodwin; her mother, Luella Patton; four brothers, Philip Patton, Timothy Patton and wife, Debbie, Michael Patton and wife, Judy, David Patton and wife, Sheila; a sister, Rachel Scott and husband, Larry; a sister-in-law, Cathy Goodwin; nieces and nephews, Coral, Heather Dawn, Marilyn, Rhonda, Rachel, Samantha, Jessy, Jeannie Mason and husband, Ben, and children, Emma and Tyler, Buck Patton, Richy, Joe, Jerry, Caleb, and Josh; and lifelong friends, Betty Williams, Lynda Chronister, and Peggy Poindexter.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 18, 2012 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with Mrs. Varney Lucas officiating and music by Doris Ann Stout. Interment will be at Mount Zion Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home. Viewing will be Friday from 1 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 - 7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Summers, Robert Poindexter, Dustin Stout, Dusty Williams, Buck Patton, Larry Scott, and Caleb Bauer.
