Freda Kay Smith, 72, sadly left our world to be with the Lord after a long battle with cancer on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. She lived a life in service and kindness. She was born December 13, 1951 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Johnny and Ruby Scrivner. She was a beloved figure of Greenwood, Arkansas, a retiree of Beverly Enterprise, member of Jenny Lind First Baptist Church and volunteer at the Jenny Lind Fire Department. She was loved by all that knew her and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Billy Joe Smith; daughter and the light of her life, Freda Kaye Jackson and husband, Anthony; step daughter, Caroline Bailey; two brothers, Bobby Scrivner and Henry Scrivner; two sisters, Zona Lewis and Carol Cotner; six grandchildren, Paige Richardson, Jasper Jackson, Hunter Jackson, Harley Jackson, Heather Rearden and Tony Rearden and numerous great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Johnny Faye Buckley and grandson, Michael Bailey.
A family hosted celebration of life service will be 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Jenny Lind First Baptist Church. Inurnment will be at Infant Cemetery in Caulksville, Arkansas. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
