Edward Lee Williams, 63, of Hackett, Arkansas departed this life Saturday, August 26, 2023 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Ed was born October 9, 1959 in Glendale, California to Norris and Jennie (Bevans) Williams. Ed was a member of Community Bible - East Fort Smith where he served on the security team. He married the love of his life, Darla in El Monte, California on November 19, 1980. They were married 43 years. Ed and Darla moved to Arkansas in 1998, where they continued to raise their boys and build their home. Ed loved his family deeply, and would often talk about his boys, their families, and his daughter. He was an avid foster parent and became Papa to many children. When Ed wasn’t caring for his family, he was working. Ed was self-employed and could often be found at the farm working with chickens or cows. If he wasn’t at the farm he was either giving advice or physically helping others.
He is survived by his wife, Darla Williams; four sons, Edward Williams Jr. and Shawn, Kevin Williams and Courtney, Michael Williams and Tatum and Jeffrey Williams and Talia; one daughter, Joslyn Williams; two sisters, Betty Sanchez and Narciso and Bonnie Tinker and Jerry; mother-in-law, Helen Izell and twelve grandchildren, Cyrus, Julie, Jude, Kealey, Cooper, Kinlee, Javonte, Jakobeian, Jaylon, Coy, Karter and Cora on the way.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, September 1 at Community Bible Church-East Fort Smith with burial at Evans Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Edward Williams Jr., Kevin Williams, Michael Williams, Jeffrey Williams, Chris Izell, David Kohl and Joslyn Williams.
