Don Godwin, 87, of Mansfield, Arkansas passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024 in Charleston. He was born October 5, 1936 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Hershel and Ruby Irene Godwin. He was in the restaurant business, a veteran of the U.S. Army in the 101st airborne paratroopers division and of the Christian faith. He lived in California until the late 70s then moved to Sebastian County for the rest of his years.
He is survived by one daughter, Terri Godwin-Sanders, nieces and nephew, Sherry Tate, Jerry Tate, Pamela Tate and Debra Tate. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Lee Godwin and three sisters, Elizabeth Ann, Mary Frances and Jerry Belle.
Cremation is under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
