David Lee Wasson, 84, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Friday, June 21, 2024 in Fort Smith. He was born March 16, 1940 in Fort Smith to George Cullen and Pauline Katherine (Crane) Wasson. He was a 44 year Assemblies of God minister, where he served as a section presbyter. He was a member of New Bethel Assembly of God Church in Fort Smith.
He is survived by two sons, Rod Wasson of Greenwood and Jeff Wasson of Alma; one daughter, Kim Shipley and husband, Eddie of Greenwood; eight grandchildren, Ty Wasson, Kolby Wasson, McKenzie Cannon, Matthew Cook, Jeff Wasson, II, Mandy Weller, Logan Shipley and Scott Shipley and seventeen great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Judy Wasson, a brother, George C. Wasson and one sister, Joyce Ann Williams.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 26 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery. Viewing will be Tuesday from 1 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Ty Wasson, Kolby Wasson, Logan Shipley, Scott Shipley, Jeff Wasson and Matthew Cook.
