Danny DeHart, 78, of Mansfield, Arkansas passed away Friday, June 25, 2021 in his home. Danny was born April 1, 1943 to Claude and Oneta (Trotter) DeHart in Boothe, Arkansas. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving as a Sergeant with the 87th Engineer Battalion, U. S. Army; and a graduate of University of Arkansas Fayetteville with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He worked at Arkansas Oklahoma Gas for 33 years and retired as an Assistant Vice President of Engineering. Danny was also a member of the Mansfield Church of Christ. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family and friends.
Danny was preceded in death by his father Claude DeHart, mother Oneta (Trotter) DeHart, and a sister Dortha Blackard.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Peggy (Holland) DeHart of Mansfield, Arkansas; daughter, Teresa Ray and husband, J.C. of Rudy, Arkansas; granddaughter, Rebekah Ray also of Rudy; sister, Carla Silvey and husband, Ronnie of Boothe Arkansas; brother-in-law, Jerry Blackard of Hixson, Tennessee; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 29 at McConnell Funeral Home and interment with military honors at the National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood, Arkansas. Viewing will be Monday, 1:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends and family from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be J.C. Ray, Shawn Silvey, Brentley Silvey, Dustin Silvey, Allen Wendling, Mark Cotner, Mike Cotner and Kevin Cotner. Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce Hainley, Charlie Hartsell, and Jim Udouj.
