Charles Ray Kerr, Sr., 67, of Hackett, Arkansas passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was retired from the College of the Desert in Palm Desert, California, a member of the Greenwood Church of the Nazarene, a member of the Harris-Hannah VFW Post #6527 in Greenwood, and a U. S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam war.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, January 27, 2012 at the U. S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon of the home; four sons, Charles Ray Kerr, Jr. and wife, Anita, of Greenwood, AR, Thomas Ray Kerr and wife, Dawn, of Winchester, CA, Timothy Ray Kerr and wife, Molly, of Hackett, AR, and Christopher Ray Kerr and wife, Josie, of Midland, AR; two brothers, Carl Stephens and wife, Bernice, of Indio, CA and Alfred Stephens of Fort Smith, AR; two sisters, Elizabeth Langley and husband, Bill, of Midland, AR and Pearl Jones and husband, Denny, of Yuma, AZ; and fourteen grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bobby and Nick Spence, Greg Stephens, Johnny Gamble, Charlie Lanier, and David Oaks.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, Attn: Josheph Lettman, 30 East 33rd, New York, New York, 10016.
There will be no public viewing.
