Audrey “Janet” Townley Pearcy, 77, of Barling, Arkansas passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 in Fort Smith. She was born March 3, 1940 in Greenwood to Fred and Audrey Townley. She graduated from Greenwood High School and Milly’s Beauty College and worked for Med-Tec as a CNA for many years. She enjoyed her home in Van Buren until residing at Ashton Place Nursing and Rehabilitation in Barling due to dementia and diabetes. She loved fishing, camping, hunting and being outdoors. She survived the 1968 tornado in Greenwood and two critical car accidents, and will always be remember as a strong, hardworking mother.
She is survived by her six children, Lisa Brown, Jim Pearcy, Michael Pearcy, Mark Pearcy, Scott Pearcy and Linda Bender; one sister, Shirley Young; the father of her children, James “Lowell” Pearcy and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Freddy Townley.
Viewing will be Monday, February 12, from 1 – 7 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m. The family will have a private graveside service.
