Anna (Annie) Carlton, 66, of Hackett, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on March 29, 2014. She was born on July 19, 1947 in Hackett, Arkansas. Annie was of the Baptist faith. On February 2, 1979 Annie married the love of her life Joe Carlton.
Annie started her working career at Southwest Rebuilders before moving to Whirlpool where she retired, but often worked a second job to provide for her family.
Annie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, quilting and gardening (especially tomatoes). However, spending time with her family is what she treasured most. Her generous heart and compassion for others will be greatly missed. Annie never hesitated to extend herself to friends and family. She was a rare woman, and the love and respect for her cannot begin to be expressed by words alone.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe; and four brothers, Ralph, Jimmy, Billy, and Bobby.
She is survived by her two sons, Randy Jones and wife, Melissa of Hackett, Brian Jones and wife, Robin of Alma; one daughter, Anna Starling and husband, Nathan of Dover; three sisters, Charlene, Betty Lee, and Nancy; one brother, Leon; seven grandchildren, Seth, Coti, Devin, Aaron, Colton, Ethan, and Rebecca; and two great-grandchildren, Grayson and Merritt.
Graveside service will be 10:30 am Wednesday, April 2 at Mountain View Cemetery in Hackett, under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Visitation will be Tuesday 1-8 pm at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6-8 pm.
Pallbearers will be Seth Jones, Devin Jones, Aaron Jones, Casey Brown, Tristan Bosley and Randy Lane. Honorary pallbearer will be Stephen McBride.
