Adams enlisted in the US Army in 1977, earning his "Green Beret" and serving proudly in the Special Forces Regiment. Assigned to the 5th Special Forces Group, known as "The Legion," he spent over eleven years on classified missions in hazardous Middle Eastern environments. His leadership roles included "Green Light" teams, responsible for parachuting tactical nuclear weapons during the Cold War to stop the Soviets in the event of war and being selected to lead an "A" Team during the Gulf War.
Adams continued his exceptional service in other Special Operations units culminating in his promotion to Sergeant Major and successfully executing often dangerous Special Forces missions in over 30 countries around the globe.
In addition to his military achievements, Adams excelled in the tech industry for fifteen years, primarily at HP while indulging his passion for fishing as a dedicated member of the informal "Surfcasters" group, finding joy and companionship in their challenging pursuits, chasing striped bass up to 50 lbs in the ocean at night often wearing a wetsuit in treacherous conditions.
Adams is survived by his loving wife Jessica and children Karina, Bella, Sofia, Jamie, and Luke.
A wake will be held at Leo P. Gallagher funeral home at 31 Arch St, Greenwich, CT on Saturday August 24. 2024 between the hours of 2:00 and 6:00 pm.
