Dorothy Dianne Steward Chodaczek, of Riverside, died January 12, at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Born November 14, 1940, in Monroe, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Harold Ellis Steward and Dorothy Evelyn Trout Steward. She was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy in Monroe, and of Marquette University.
Mrs. Chodaczek was, for years, manager of the Greenwich Talbots store. After retirement, she was associated with Hoagland's of Greenwich. She also had been a coordinator of video volunteers in the Greenwich elementary schools. Mrs. Chodaczek was a volunteer at Greenwich Hospital for 15 years, and had been a volunteer religious education teacher at St. Catherine of Siena parish in Riverside.
Mrs. Chodaczek is survived by her husband of 52 years, Alexander Chodaczek, Jr,: three sons: Alexander Chodaczek III of Norwalk; Timothy S. Chodaczek and his wife, Mary Irene, of Chatham, NJ; and Gregory P. Chodaczek, and his wife, Lisa, of Berwyn, PA; and a daughter, Kateri Dianne McGrogan, and her husband, Christopher, of Pompton Plains, NJ.
Also, grandchildren: Christopher Chodaczek and his wife, Elizabeth, Daniel Chodaczek and Michaela Chodaczek; Matthew Chodaczek and Katherine Chodaczek; and Christopher McGrogan, Jr., Timothy McGrogan and Alexandra Dianne McGrogan.
Also, two sisters: Debra Shah and her husband, Kanti, of Monroe, MI, and Kathryn McIhargey and her husband, William, of Ipswich, MA, and five brothers: Kenneth Steward, Thomas Steward and his wife, HyunA, and Harold E. Steward and his wife, Dawn, of Monroe, MI, Mark Steward and his wife, Kaoru, of Chatham, NJ, and Gregory Steward and his wife, Angela, of Toledo.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Chodaczek was predeceased by two brothers, John Steward and Philip Steward, and stepmother, Agnes Werstein Steward.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 17, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Four Riverside Ave., Riverside, CT. Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery, North Street, Greenwich. CT.
Visitation will be Friday, January 16, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch Street, Greenwich.
