William Boyd King, Jr., 62, of Greer, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at his home with his devoted wife Barrie at his side.
Born in Decatur, Georgia, he was the son of the late William Boyd King Sr. and Louise Kiene King. He battled kidney cancer for over 20 years. Everyone who knew him loved him. He was an air traffic controller, pilot, family man, photographer, funny guy, mixer of killer margaritas, movie buff, music fan, picky eater, black belt, Broadway fan, laid back, and so much more. We will miss him dearly.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 38 years is his son, William Boyd King, III and his girlfriend, Brittany Puite of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; a daughter, Stephanie King and her fiancé Thomas Westmoreland of North Charleston, South Carolina; two sisters, Janet Freeman and her husband Harvey of Tallahassee, Florida and Beverly King of Tallahassee, Florida; and one brother, Kevin King and his wife Jody of Pensacola, Florida.
The family will announce a memorial service at a later date.
