William Alexander "Dusty" Jones Jr.

William Alexander "Dusty" Jones, Jr., 64, of Greer passed away Sunday, December 21.

Born in Spartanburg, Dusty grew up in Clinton where he attended Clinton High School. He graduated from Baptist College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

Dusty worked for Milliken for 12 years in Toccoa, GA, Gaffney, and Saluda.

He was an HR manager at Southern Weaving in Greenville and Simpsonville, where he also served as president of the Simpsonville Chamber of Commerce.

He retired from Lear Corporation in July 2014, after 18 years as HR Director and past president of the former BMW Supplier Council. He also spent time volunteering with various organizations in the area.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ivy Newman Jones, of Greer, and his two sons: Andy (38) and his wife Cynthia and their daughter Caroline (5) of Fort Mill; and Alan (35) and his wife Marilyn and their children Lydia (7) and Price (4) of Simpsonville. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Jones, Sr. and Ruth Lanford Jones of Clinton, and by his infant grandson, William Jones, IV (December 27, 2013).

He was a member of Hampton Heights Baptist Church.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 26 at The Mackey Mortuary with Jason Malone officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.
