I wrote this letter asking my dad to be the best man at my wedding.  I haven’t thought about the letter until yesterday when I found it in his nightstand.

I'M SO SORRY FOR THE LOSS OF A GOOD FRIEND..AND THE FAMILY LOST A SPECIAL PERSON. I WILL SEE YOU AND MY YOUNGER BROTHER AGAIN SOME DAY WHO PASSED AWAY IN OCTOBER OF 2021. I WILL MISS THEM BOTH DEARLY. I FEEL EMPTY ALREADY FOR THE LOSS OF A GOOD FRIEND. WHEN WE TALKED ON THE PHONE WE WOULD ALWAYS ARGUE ABOUT SOMETHING. . KIND OF LIKE HUSBAND AND WIFE..R.I.P. FRIEND AND BROTHER..

I met Willie in 1963 when my family moved to Decatur St.  For a young boy living on Decatur, Rutledge, Rodney was meant u had more than a dozen boys to play with.

Willie was one of nicest of our lot. Always seemed to be happy and didn’t have a mean bone in his body.

A good baseball player and more importantly a friend to all.

Willie, we miss you so much.    When Debbie and I ride by your house we always looked to see if the garage door was up, then I'd look for you in the yard.  Sometimes we'd just wave, the best times I'd pull in and we'd have a chat.  
I really enjoyed our talks about golf, golf clubs, courses and all.  That Tuesday morning you left us you called to ask me about my new Ping driver.  I asked if you were feeling good, and you said "Feeling Great!" 
 And car talk!  When you bought the Road Runner from the old lady in Fountain Inn, and told me the story, I laughed and laughed.  I made you tell me that story over and over again.
We still look to see if the garage door is up and if you are in the yard.  That's going to be a hard habit to break.
Rest in Peace, my friend.  I'm sure you are going to be looking down on Tyler and Cooper, Brady, and Peyton, and helping them along in life.  We miss you.

Mr. William Augustus Huff lived a very interesting life, but still the loss of him is very difficult to handle.  How important it is to celebrate a life well lived and to cherish the many happy memories that your family has shared together.  May God sustain you at this time of such great loss.  While words fail to capture the pain of losing a loved one, we look forward to the time when words will fail to capture the joy of having our heavenly Father return your dear one to you.  Here is a wonderful thought.  It reads like this.  "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. I’m heart-broken that Sweet William is gone. We had a deal but I guess God had a different plan.
William loved his family. He loved cars, fishing, baseball, golf but most of all he loved Tyler. He was a dedicated Father and Grandfather. There was nothing that he wouldn’t do for his family. William was someone who lit up a room when he entered. That smile was infectious. I’ll always remember !

I knew Willie for 40+ Years, I talked to him on the telephone about a year or so ago and we were  Supposed to go have lunch one day.  Willie and I lived in the same neighborhood (Richmond Hills)  for a number of years.Willie and I also worked together at Pilot Freight and Yellow Freight for several years, heck I even taught him to drive a truck. I’m so sorry we never had that lunch together. Willie was one of the nicest people  I ever spent time around. I never heard him say a negative thing about anyone. (Thats a rare thing nowadays) He will be missed by his family and friends. RIP Willie

Willie was such a kind person . My Husband Waymon ''KILOWATT" had been friends with Willie for so  many years, That friendship they had was special that is because they were both special kind of people. Kilowatt passed in January of this year. There friendship lives on in Heaven.Prayers for you Tyler and your Family.

I played golf with Willie several times and he was one of the nicest guys I ever met. He was very cordial, very positive and just fun to play golf with. Even though I didn’t know Willie very long I know he loved baseball , golf and his family. He will be missed.

Mr. Huff will be missed, he was a great neighbor always pleasant. He picked up where Glenda left off always doing some type of yard work.

Willie was a HERO to many. He always impressed me from the early stages of our friendship. Most impressive was his love and dedication to family. He would make the drive over and back to see his son play baseball in Newport,TN. Not a very pleasant drive to make one way and a brutal trip to do it both ways in one day. 
Willie was especially a loving son to his mother. From bringing her a biscuit every day to taking her on daily trips to Strawberry Hill and to the mountains when others were playing golf. 
His grandchildren were very special to him and it was admirable the way he dedicated himself to them.
Those are the things that impressed me about Willie.
He was a great friend and will be missed by the people that were lucky enough to know him.

So sorry to read of Willies passing, I believe we are distant cousins but not sure how we are connected. Willie and I grew up together and went to school together. Rest peacefully my dear friend. 

The entire Huff family had such a great impact on our family as I grew up with Willie and George and Sandy. Their Mom was my Moms best friend so we were connected in a very special way. 
We lost a fine man , father, husband, grandfather and friend. 
Praying for those he loves as you adjust to this sudden loss💔  Willie, I’m sure my brother Benny will be meeting you in Heaven and play a few rounds of golf. Love you always, sweet man❤️🙏

We’re broken-hearted. Tyler and Renee, we’re sending virtual hugs. Our son, Asher, grew up with Tyler. Tyler is such a great dad, which he must have gotten from his father. We love you. Just so sad to hear this. 

I must say, Willie was a wonderful person!  As long as I’ve known Willie and shared some wonderful times, Willie never had a negative thing to say about anyone or anything.  Willie loved life and those around him.  He left a positive impact on everyone that had the pleasure of meeting him.  I will truly miss you, Pal.  Tyler, hold your head high, just as he would want you to.  YOU were his life.

So sad to here about Willie’s passing. We went to Parker High School together and had several of the same classes.  Willie  enjoyed life to the fullness.

I was a FOSTER before marriage and Willie knew us all (Debbie, Steve  and Cathy).

So sorry to hear about Willy. I have the fondest of memories playing softball when we were younger. My prayers go out to his family. He had a good soul🙏
