Laughter, merriment, and happiness were always present wherever he made an appearance. He was a hardworking small business owner. Customers who visited the Gallery at Grove often hung around after their business was conducted to converse and laugh with Bill. He received a nickname in elementary school. To his wife, close friends, and relatives he was affectionately known as “Hindu”. He served in the Coast Guard in his twenties, and was stationed in New Orleans. This city always held a special place in his heart and memories. He loved sailing, watching Clemson football, and making daily hors d’ oeuvres for happy hour. He was a talented artist and spent free time painting scenes of flower arrangements, roosters, and sailboats. He will always be remembered as a storyteller, friend, loving father, and devoted husband.
