Wayne W. West Jr.

Born in Greenville, Wayne was the son of the late Wayne Washington West Sr. and Willie Mae Ledford

West.

Wayne graduated from Greenville High School after which he proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He spent

most of his career working in the railroad and transportation industries before retiring in Greenville. He

loved playing golf with his beloved wife and best friend Maurice, and enjoyed teaching the game to his

daughters and grandchildren.

He volunteered with the Taylors First Baptist food pantry and the Salvation Army. He was a member of

Taylors First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Maurice Nimmons West; daughters; Sharon K. Boston and

her husband Phil; Sandy W. Spitler and her husband Harrison, grandchildren; Hannah Tillman and

husband J. T. Lee, Rebekah Rainey and her husband Caleb, Sarah Spitler, Nathan Spitler, Jonathan

Spitler, Abby Spitler, and Isaac Spitler; great-grandchildren; Evie, Eli and Sophia Rainey; sister; Betty

Webb and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for family only will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Taylors First Baptist Church, 200 W. Main St., Taylors, SC. For those unable to attend the service it will be live streamed. Condolences for the family can be left at www.mackeywoodlawn.com
