Samuel was born February 11, 1942 in Martinsville, Indiana.
Dr. Schnaiter attended Dade High School where he achieved the title of Chess State Tournament Champion '59. Dr. Schnaiter graduated from Bob Jones University with a B.A. in Humanities '66, M.A. in Bible '68 and a Ph.D. in New Testament Textual Criticism '80. Dr. Schnaiter served as Professor of New Testament Languages and Literature at Bob Jones University for 48 years. During his time of service at Bob Jones University, he also served as head of the Department of Ancient Languages and co-director of the Bob Jones Western Canada Summer Mission Team for five years.
Dr. Schnaiter co-authored "Bible Preservation and the Providence of God" (published by Xlibris Press, 2002). He was also the author of various journal articles for "Biblical Viewpoint", Frontline" and "Arabic Evangelism".
Dr. Schnaiter's interesting hobby was communication through amateur radio and his favorite passage of Scripture was Psalm 23.
Samuel is survived by his wife, Marilyn Livesay Schnaiter; his son Stephan Schnaiter; his son Jonathan Schnaiter; his daughter Lisa Messier; his son Michael Schnaiter and his sister Tita Seegar.
Dr. Schnaiter also leaves eight grandchildren to cherish his memories.
A Memorial Service for Samuel will be held Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609.
