Rosie Louise Williams Redd (Greenville, SC), 91, widow of Robert Redd was called Home on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Ferriday, Louisiana, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Katie Davis Williams among 11 siblings: Malisa Price, Eugene Williams, Aron Williams, Edna Brown, Johnnie Williams, Louisa Avery, Elizabeth Davis, Sam Williams, Janette Williams, and Alice Smith.
Mrs. Redd attended Springfield Baptist Church where she was a member of the Senior Choir.
Left to cherish her memory in addition to her sisters, Elizabeth Davis and Louisa Avery; daughter, Melanie Redd; son, Kirby Anderson (Velma); son-in-law, Ricky Watts (Arlene); nephew, Danny Brown (Miriam); granddaughters Maleya Redd and Kavetta Anderson; grandsons, Tony Redd, Jordan Redd, Phillip Redd, and Tylor Redd; and her great-grandchildren: Brenen Redd, Savanna Absalom, Averee Absalom, and Akira Redd. Among her closest friends were: Ella Mae Duckett, Helen Irby, Barbara Atchison, Barbara Miller, and the late Lucille White. She will be missed by a host of loved ones and relatives throughout the United States. In addition to her loved ones and relatives, she will also be missed by her pet dogs Petie and King.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Redd was preceded in death by her daughter, Arlene Watts and grandson, Robert “Scooter” Redd.
A visitation for Rosie will be held Friday, August 12, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Century Drive, 311 Century Drive, Greenville, SC 29607, with a funeral service starting at 1:00 PM. A committal service will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
