She was born on January 17, 1938 and grew up in Winterville, North Carolina. She was the first of four children of Wiley and Roxy Waters. She is survived by Moye Waters (Carol) and Monroe Waters (Lorraine), and preceded in death by her sister, Alice Pope.
Roselyn was the proud and loving mother of daughter Charlotte Norwood and son Lee Norwood (Betsy) of Greenville, South Carolina. She was known as “Nana” to her beloved four grandchildren, Elizabeth Wrenn Hamby and Hattie, Josie and Lolly Norwood, who will all miss her dearly.
Roselyn lived a fulfilling life and was a woman of many talents. She graduated from East Carolina University, received a master’s degree in home economics from Penn State and went on to become a top saleswoman at Bell South in Charlotte, North Carolina selling advertising. She was known as “Roz” by all her dearest friends.
Roz was a kind and generous woman with an unforgettable laugh. She will always be remembered for hosting fabulous Christmas parties each year for her friends at AA. She celebrated 40 years of sobriety at the time of her death and was an inspiration and mentor to all who knew her.
The family will celebrate her life privately with a burial of her ashes in Winterville, North Carolina.
