“Bob”, was a son of Carl Freitag and Clara D’Alessio Freitag. He was born and raised in Edison, N.J. He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 1976, before earning a degree in Criminal Justice at St. John’s University in 1980.
A natural born salesman, Bob began his career in customer service at Ingersoll-Rand, advancing through the years to become the President of North American Sales and Marketing at Techtronic Industries (TTI) in Anderson, S.C.
Although he achieved success at a high level, the simple pleasures of hunting, fishing and shooting pool with friends always remained near to his heart. Golf was also a major passion of his that he excelled at, winning many amateur tournaments over the years.
Originally from New Jersey, anyone who knew him knew that Bob never lost his love for the music of Bruce Springsteen. Either in his house or in his car there was only one kind of music, that of the Boss. He was a Superfan and knew the words to every song, They all spoke to him in some way. He made sure everyone he knew listened to it too.
So much more important than his career or any of his interests however, was how much he loved and cared about his two children. He would go to any lengths to take care of what they needed. He loved them beyond measure.
Bob was a person who always seemed to know the right thing to say to anyone he met. A chance meeting with him would many times lead to a life-long friendship.
He called South Carolina home for the last 30 years, during that time traveling the world frequently for business and pleasure, and always making new friends wherever he went.
He will be very much missed by all.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Audrey Freitag. He is survived by his two children, Andy Freitag and Stephanie Freitag, both of Greenville. He is also survived by his brother Wayne (Ann) and nephews Keith and Eric. In addition to his family, Bob leaves behind many extended family members and lifelong friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Mackey Funerals and Cremation on 311 Century Drive, Greenville, S.C. A memorial service will follow in the Mackey Chapel.
